Berlin middle class: Digitisation Index – Digitisation as a task for all companies, smaller companies often still too little committed
In the context of the SME Survey 2017 of the Berliner Sparkasse, DIW Econ has looked at the topic of digitisation in a focus analysis. For the first time, a digitisation index for Berlin and the surrounding area could be determined based on the analysis results. The index reflects both the state of digitisation as the current status and the progress of digitisation as the digitisation dynamics.
International review of best practice in the publication of productivity statistics
On behalf of the UK Office for National Statistics, DIW Econ and London Economics have examined the productivity measures that are published by national and international statistical organisations (NISOs) around the world.
The report summarises the productivity publications of 21 NISOs and includes information on their detailed labour-, capital- and multi-factor productivity estimates and methods.

The authors argue that despite technological changes, there are still economically sound reasons for public funding of broadcasting content. The basis of the argumentation is the positive external effects of broadcasting.
