Annual Report on European SMEs 2012/2013 – A Recovery on the Horizon?

Annual Report on European SMEs 2012/2013

European Commission

The European Commission has recognised the central role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the European economy and with the Small Business Act (SBA) 2008 created an instrument to sustainably promote the growth and competitiveness of SMEs. The SME Performance Review (SME PR) is the European Commission’s key instrument to assess and monitor compliance and implementation of the SBA. The report provides an overview of the current structure of small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe and their contribution to prosperity and employment. It also analyses the extent to which SMEs have recovered from the economic crisis and how the SME sector will develop in Europe in the future.
