The economic importance of the film industry in Germany
DIW Econ has analysed the economic significance of the film industry on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and in cooperation with Goldmedia and the Hamburg Media School.
For the first time, the study provides reliable economic figures and detailed analyses of the activities of the entire film industry in Germany.
According to the study, the contribution of the entire cluster of the film industry to economic output (gross value added) will amount to 13,564 million euros in 2014. The number of people employed in the film industry amounts to 161,036 for the same year.
