Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) for Schleswig-Holstein 2019
On behalf of the German Institute for Tourism Research (DITF) at the FH Westküste – Univerity of Applied Sciences, DIW Econ, in cooperation with the German Economic Institute for Tourism at the University of Munich (dwif), has calculated the ” Economic Impact of Tourism” for Schleswig-Holstein (with reference year 2019) based on a Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) for the third time after 2015 and 2017.
Within the framework of a Tourism Satellite Account (TSA), the economic importance of tourism for a destination is determined in close accordance with internationally established methodological conventions of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat). On the one hand, the total consumption expenditure of overnight and day tourists with private and business motives for travelling to the destination in question is determined. On the other hand, the effects on economic output and employment triggered by this expenditure are calculated.
